My first real day learning to code was in high school, working with Visual Basic. It was part of my journey in learning to coded, as my teacher trusted me enough to let me make a copy of the installation disk so I could practice at home—something that felt huge at the time. Learning to Coded can be a challenging, yet rewarding experience.

Naturally, I used that power responsibly… by creating The Dancing Barney Program.
My first program was Barney the dinosaur, from the TV show, popping up and dancing on the screen. A simple Windows Forms app: two frames of Barney facing one direction, then the other, looping endlessly while the background colors changed. It was a fun idea, and it made me giggle every time it ran.
That moment hooked me. I realized code wasn’t just rules and syntax—it was creativity.
That curiosity led me into a Java class at vocational school, then into debugging running software, hex editors, and figuring out how things really worked, continuing my learning to coded journey. So I guess you could say I’ve been coding since I was a kid.
Today, I code pretty much every day. AI makes things faster, sure—but you still need to understand the basics to know when to call the BS on the AI model. That foundation eventually led me to build ThoughtsBeCaught, an app designed to help people better understand and manage their mental health.
ThoughtsBeCaught is built around one core promise: “Change is possible — and here’s the proof.”
