Daily writing prompt
Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.

IIf I could send a message forward in time to my 100-year-old self, it wouldn’t be complicated advice. Instead, it would simply be a reminder of what truly mattered along the way. In many ways, writing a letter to my future self is a chance to pause, reflect, and remember the values that shape a meaningful life.

First, remember that life usually works itself out. Difficult moments may feel overwhelming while they are happening. However, many struggles eventually become the lessons that build resilience and perspective. Because of this, trust the process even when progress feels slow.

Financial security matters, so continue saving for retirement. At the same time, never stop building something meaningful. Creating projects and businesses outside of a traditional career can open opportunities that grow over time. For me, building the ThoughtsBeCaught mental wellness app became a way to turn personal experiences into something that might help others. In many ways, that journey itself feels like writing a letter to my future self.

Growth rarely happens inside comfort zones. Therefore, keep learning and sharpening your programming skills. Coding competitions, certifications, and constant practice help keep your mind sharp as technology evolves. More importantly, curiosity keeps life interesting long after most people stop learning.

Relationships matter even more than achievements. Most importantly, stay loyal to Jennifer. She is an important woman in your life and deserves appreciation, loyalty, and respect. Love is not about perfection; instead, it is about showing up every day and continuing to try.

Equally important is being a strong example for your daughter. She will learn more from your actions than from your words. Because of that, choose discipline, responsibility, and kindness whenever possible. If she looks back someday, hopefully she sees someone who kept trying to grow and do better.

Small things deserve attention too. Take care of Hay Hay, the bird who bites a little too often but is still part of the family. Often, the little daily moments become the memories that matter most later in life.

Finally, make choices that protect the life you have built. Stay responsible, stay focused, and stay out of trouble. One poor decision can ripple through everything else, so choose wisely and protect the people who depend on you.

If you reach 100 years old and read this letter someday, hopefully you can say one simple thing:

You kept trying, and that was enough.

Change is possible — and here’s the proof.
