When I was five years old, I had two big dreams for my future. I wanted to be a paleontologist because I loved dinosaurs, and I also wanted to be a train engineer because I was fascinated by trains. Those hopes were my childhood dreams shaping my imagination.
As a kid, dinosaurs felt larger than life to me. I was always thinking about them, learning about them, and imagining what it would be like to discover something incredible from the past. I would even go out into the backyard and hunt for “dinosaur bones,” hoping I might uncover a fossil hidden in the dirt. In my mind, every dig was an adventure, fueled by childhood dreams of discovery.
At the same time, I also loved trains. There was just something special about them. I remember wearing a train engineer’s hat and imagining myself riding the rails, guiding a powerful train down the tracks. Those moments connected with my childhood dreams of being part of something exciting.
Some of my favorite memories were going to the train depot with my grandpa and watching the trains go by. Those moments stayed with me. The sound, the movement, and the experience of being there made a real impression on me as a child. Such experiences inspired my childhood dreams and made them feel real.
Looking back, I think those childhood dreams say a lot about who I was. I was curious, imaginative, and drawn to things that felt big, powerful, and full of wonder. Whether I was searching for dinosaur bones in the backyard or watching trains with my grandpa, I was always chasing that feeling of discovery.
Childhood dreams may change over time, but the excitement behind them is something special. Even now, there is something meaningful about remembering the things that made us feel alive when we were young.
Change is possible — and here’s the proof.
