When Instinct Takes Over
There are moments in life where you don’t have time to think—you just act. Especially when someone you care about is in danger.
I’ve talked before about getting in trouble and even ending up in jail. But not every situation is black and white. Sometimes the line between right and wrong gets blurry when things escalate fast.
What Happened That Night
One moment that sticks with me happened in a Walmart parking lot.
A man almost hit my woman’s kids with his vehicle. She went over to talk to him, expecting at least an apology. Instead, things escalated quickly. Before anyone could react, he put his hands on her and started strangling her.
That’s when everything changed.
The Decision I Made
I didn’t stop to think. I didn’t weigh the consequences. I saw someone I care about in danger—and I moved.
I stepped in and started hitting the guy, trying to get him off her and redirect his attention. In the middle of it all, I knocked out one of his teeth.
It worked. He let go.
When Things Got Worse
But it didn’t end there.
The guy grabbed a tire jack and came back at us. The situation could have gotten even more serious, but eventually it was broken up. When everything settled, I was the one who got arrested.
That’s how fast things can turn.
Why I Don’t Regret It
Here’s the truth—I don’t regret stepping in.
In that moment, it wasn’t about me. It was about protecting someone who couldn’t defend herself against someone twice her size. I did what I felt was right, even knowing it might cost me.
The Reality of Tough Choices
Life isn’t always clean or fair.
Sometimes doing the right thing comes with consequences. Sometimes standing up means taking a hit—legally, emotionally, or physically.
But if I had walked away and something worse happened?
That’s something I wouldn’t be able to live with.
Final Thought
So yeah, I took a risk.
And I’d take it again.
Change is possible — and here’s the proof.
