Daily writing prompt
If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be?

If I could have dinner with any fictional character, I’d choose Ernest P. Worrell. The character of Ernest P. Worrell has always fascinated me. I grew up watching the Ernest movies and Hey Vern, It’s Ernest!, and they were a huge part of my childhood. In so many ways, Ernest P. Worrell is the perfect example of a lovable underdog whose heart is always in the right place. Ernest P. Worrell always made me laugh with his good intentions, even though everything around him usually turned into complete chaos.

I honestly have no idea what we’d eat because Ernest always seemed to end up with some weird or messy food disaster. Dinner with Ernest P. Worrell would probably turn into a hilarious adventure instead of a normal meal.

One thing I’d really want to ask Ernest is how he manages to stay so positive no matter what happens. Even when his plans failed or everything went wrong, he never gave up. He always got back up, kept smiling, and tried again. That’s a quality I appreciate even more about Ernest P. Worrell as an adult than I did as a kid.

Looking back, Ernest reminds me of simpler times, family movie nights, and the joy of growing up. Sharing a meal with Ernest P. Worrell would be full of laughs, unforgettable memories, and plenty of chaos. Know what I mean, Vern?
